Principal's Message
It’s hard to believe but, it’s that time of the year again – the beginning of a new school year. Welcome back and thank you for trusting us to provide the highest quality educational experience to your child! While you may not be part of the teaching staff, you are just as important to your child’s education as we are.
Your child receives the best education when you and our dedicated teachers and staff work as a team. It’s a parent’s enthusiasm, support, and involvement that inspires children to do their best; and a teacher’s ability to teach what they need to learn. Together we can achieve wonderful things.
There’s a lot of excitement ahead of us as Lauderhill Middle School becomes a NEW Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Magnet Middle School. We invite you to join us for our upcoming Quarterly Magnet Showcases. This school year we are also implementing Lauderhill Middle School’s Prep Academy to better prepare our middle school students for high school and beyond. Should you need additional information on how your child can participate and take advantage of these programs, please contact Ms. Jackson, Guidance Director, at 754-321-3600.
Beginning this year, the Code of Student Conduct, Policy 5.8, will be distributed electronically. Students and parents are required to sign a statement indicating they have received their Code of Student Conduct handbook, are aware of the explanation of rules it provides in the policy, and have selected their options for media and directory information releases. You may view the Code of Student Conduct under School Board Policies on the District website (www.browardschools.com). You may also view the Code of Student Conduct video on BECON television and on the District’s website.
In closing, I encourage you to take time from your busy schedule to become familiar with our school and teachers as well as create a homework-friendly environment at home that will allow your child to excel.

New Website Initiative
Welcome to the 2011- 2012 school year and our new website! Broward Schools has developed a new initiative which provides all schools in Broward County with great websites - at no out-of-pocket cost to the school. One of the goals of this initiative is to enhance communication between us. Our school is so proud to be able to participate.
In a few months, our website will have advertising and this advertising will (1) fund the cost of the website and (2) a percentage of profits generated will be shared back to our school. Therefore, please use our website and check back here often as your participation will help us generate income!
